Lions, Lavender and Lava

Hi Everyone,

Is anyone reading this? I'm curious.

Saturday was the official Dragon Parade for Chinese New Year in Honolulu's China Town - we went! It was fun. I gave the Lion Dancer a buck and he danced for me (and some children) so now we all have good luck.

We also went to the Upcountry on Maui which was as always lovely. We went to the Tedeschi Winery and finally got to do the tour which was fine. Then we went to the Lavender Farm and then had dinner in Paia at Milagro's which is always great.

Anyway - we had a big adventure this week. We went to Volcano National Park on the big island. It was fantastic. We saw the active crater of Kilauea, the sulfur banks and then we drove the Chain of Craters road all the way to the ocean to see the Holei sea arch and to do a small hike to the Pu'u Loa Petroglyphs. I have never been in an environment like that - it was a stunning and looked alien. We loved it.

Last year, we went the Volcano National Park separate from the cast. When the rest of the cast went, Rance bought a sweatshirt that has the Volcano National Park logo on it. I was so envious of that sweatshirt and have thought of it since. So I bought one!! I love it and now everyone envies me! ME!
